Ongoing Professional Development

One of the most important parts of a 21st Century school is on going, high quality professional development from and for teachers. As the late, great Sir Ken Robinson once said, paraphrasing, professional development is not a cost to schools, it is an investment. As I have been working with my school to develop training modules for teachers, particularly with asynchronous learning in mind both for teachers and for our students, I feel the drive to share it out with teachers for free. Although there are better training modules out there, many of them are at a premium to schools and teachers. Although I am all for paying trainers and experts what they are worth, if it helps teachers to share for free, I would like to be a part of that work.

So over the next few months, as I see a need for professional development, I will be posting it here as well. Most of the modules will be presented on Canvas Commons and will be free globally. Remember that you are free to remix and change these modules. I am splitting the content into two areas. First, video content from various conferences that I have been a part of over the year. Second, Canvas Commons modules for integration in a individual teacher’s Sandbox course or whole school/district integration.
