Everybody needs a hobby…
I have always admired photography as an art. A well framed and intricate photo can be amazing. So a few years ago I bit the bullet and purchased my first mirrorless camera, a Sony A7. For the next two years it went where ever I went. I took tens of thousands of photos, many terrible, some amazing. I learned about astrophotography, macro photography, and the importance of lighting. Then right before the pandemic I started shooting with a A7III.
Photography continues to be one of the ways I shut off my brain and anxiety. It gives me something to create, something to build for myself. All the photos on this site were taken by me in various locations and I thought it might be great to share more of them here and give you a bit of a story with them. Check out some favorites below.
Top of Sundance with the UEN Crew. I could not believe the view. I totally channeled Ansel Adams in the editing.
Night time at Fremont Indian State Park Summer 2021. I had a great time at URSA that day and it was great to spend some time being creative.
Bixby Canyon Bridge in December 2021. This was a bucket list drive and photo. I always wanted to do this drive but snapping this photo was a great addition. Also this was just weeks before the fire that endangered the bridge.
Griffith Observatory over looking downtown LA in Dec 2021. Caught the last little bit of light that evening. However, the most magical part was that I dropped my camera onto concrete and it still WORKED. So lucky.
This is my pup shot in macro. Very minimal editing, blur all in camera. Still can't believe it.
My turquoise ring shot in macro. Spent a day on a break just doing different setups with lights and a macro lens. Very proud of this shot.

I took this shot of my bag in a hotel room. Totally unposed, just a random shot and it turned out to be a favorite on that trip.
Sometimes I edit in Photoshop and the results are always magical.
The tilt shift was done in Photoshop, but who cares. This was a bucket list shot from Griffith Observatory.
That is not the sunrise, but light pollution from the Ogden/Salt Lake City area. The rest is the big, bad night sky.
