Curating Curiosity: Maintaining Our Growth as Educators in the AI Age

Swivl AI Webinar Series / October 10th, 2023

In January 2023 I was asked to speak at UCTE, Utah’s English language teacher conference. They wanted me to explore how we can develop curiosity about working with technology in our classrooms. I was elated; creativity, curiosity, and technology are three areas where I love to explore intersections.

What I didn’t plan for was the need to talk about how AI is influencing our world.

I started to explore what AI could mean and how it might be viewed in education. I paid deep attention to how AI has grown and the differences in types and language. I saw the panicked think pieces and listened to podcasts describing the issues we faced with AI in education.

However, I kept coming back to our classroom educators. How are they viewing AI? What do they know about AI? What are the challenges that might seem insurmountable to them? Curating Curiosity is a presentation about how we meet the challenging needs of a future that is uncertain, but full of possibility.

I am so excited to be sharing this presentation as part of Swivl’s AI Webinar Series. If you would like to join me live, you can sign up here.
