Utah Charter Network Symposium 2022: Keynote

On August 1st, 2022 I am so excited to share my keynote at the Utah Charter Network Annual Symposium at Thanksgiving Point. My keynote is entitled “Reconnect with your passion as an educator through connection.” In it I share my journey as an educator to find my community in education and how I continue to share and build up my community in Utah and beyond. Check out the entire presentation above!

After the presentation, I was immediately struck by how much fun I had exploring a lot of the stories from my life. Whether it was learning about having a voice in high school to working with Hibakusha in Japan as a K-12 educator, it was amazing to see how much my stories sparked others throughout the presentation. Although it is daunting to get up and share your point of view, voice, and stories with a large crowd, I would recommend doing it if you have the opportunity. Lots of validation in that room today. It was really good to connect with a large group of educators and then also start to build some connections with them beyond through email and social media.

With that in mind, I mentioned during my presentation that I wrote/write a lot of grants for teacher travel. Here is a Wakelet with a large number of grants available to Utah educators for materials and travel. If you are not in Utah, many of these grants are for US educators as well.
